Research and Projects

Elizabeth Burroughs
  • connections between the mathematics pre-service teachers study as undergraduates and the mathematics they will teach to school students
  • mathematical modeling in elementary classrooms
  • classroom coaching in elementary mathematics classrooms
  • developing courses appropriate for pre-service mathematics teacher preparation programs

I am now accepting applications for doctoral students interested in earning a Ph.D. in Mathematics with research in Mathematics Education. I will sponsor research projects in areas related to my ongoing research, including mathematical modeling in elementary grades, content preparation of secondary mathematics teachers, gender issues in mathematics education, informal mathematics education, and mathematics coaching.
