Talk by Dr. Jennie Luebeck (Dept. of Mathematical Sciences, MSU)

11/20/2019  Wilson Hall 1-144  12:00-12:50pm

Abstract:

Dr. Luebeck will share insights, anecdotes, and work in progress related to her recent sabbatical leave. She will address essential understandings about teaching and learning mathematics online, particularly in the case of K-12 teacher professional learning. Drawing upon personal experience, research, and collaborations with other institutions, she will describe strategies and structures that lend themselves to successful online mathematical experiences. She will discuss how these anecdotes and examples contribute to a book designed to support teacher educators as they work with K-12 mathematics classroom teachers in the online and blended environment.
