The following is a general description for M 161 - Survey of Calculus for Fall 2024. Important information will be announced in class and on D2L throughout the semester, so please show up for class and regularly check D2L for new announcements.

Grading

The class grade will be comprised of two midterm exams (25% each), one final exam (25%), quizzes/worksheets (10%) and online homework (15%).

Letter grades are determined from the course percentage by a modified standard curve: You need 90 for an A, 87 for an A-, 84 for a B+, 80 for a B, 77 for a B-, 74 for a C+, 70 for a C, 67 for a C-, and 60 for a D.

Exams

The two midterm exams will be in class on Thursday, September 26, and on Thursday, October 24. The final exam will be on Tuesday, December 10, 12:00-1:50pm. Rooms for the final exam will be announced in class and on D2L towards the end of the semester.
