Abstract: Anticipating the behavior of molecules is the core purpose of quantum chemistry. In this talk we will discuss how the exponential operator plays a crucial role towards accurate predictions in quantum chemistry, influencing our understanding of chemical reactions in all their contexts. We will also present advances made at MSU that will expand the future power of exponential operator methods, and their application to quantum chemistry and quantum computing technologies.
