Abstract:
We will compare and contrast Convolutional Neural Networks, a well-known machine learning method used in object identification and tracking, with the Map-Seeking Circuits Algorithm (MSC). MSC is a lesser-known method that can be applied provided one has a priori knowledge of the class of transformations that map input to output images. We will address an application involving 3-D rigid body transformations.
