Abstract: 

Various math faculty will provide brief introductions to current research projects. Dr. Zosso will present work on inverse problems, image processing, and data. Dr. Smith will present on simulation, calibration, inference, and uncertainty quantification in dynamical systems, specifically with regard to applications in ecology. Dr. Zhang will present mathematical modeling of complex microbial communities such as biofilms, and data analysis of wastewater treatment using biological processes. Dr. Cummins will present recent work in the inference of genetic networks from transcriptomics data.
