Abstract:
The cobordism hypothesis is a classification of certain quantum field theories.
It is phrased in terms of higher categories; it can be used as a device for constructing manifold invariants from algebraic data.
In this talk, we'll tour through some specific instances of the cobordism hypothesis related to configuration spaces, and tangles. The talk will be tailored for graduate students.
