- Mode: the peak point of the curve – the location where the curve is highest
- Median: the equal areas point – the point that divides the area under the curve in
half
- Mean: the balance point – the point at which the curve would balance if made of solid
material
- For a symmetric density curve, the median and mean are the same. The mean of a skewed
curveis pulled away from the median in the direction ofthe long tail.
