Bozeman is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land offering maintained campsites, rustic cabins, or free camping wherever you find a good spot away from the main access roads. Areas commonly known as "The Bridgers" or "Hyalite" are about 15-20 miles from downtown Bozeman. Campsites are about $15 per night. Cabins are about $30 and sleep 4. That's about $8 per person per night if you're keeping score.
